What can we help with?

Lower limb pain comes in many forms but some of the most common conditions that we treat include:

  • Pain in the ball of the foot
  • Heel pain (including Plantar Fasciitis)
  • Ankle pain
  • Bunions
  • Arthritis of the foot and ankle
  • Toe pain and problems including hammer toes
  • Morton's neuroma
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Ligament and tendon injuries

What to expect at a musculoskeletal podiatry appointment

There are lots of different assessments that can be used to help assess and diagnose your issues but the most important one is listening to you. How has your problem affected you and what impact is it having on your life? This will help form a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

During your appointment, our specialists will analyse your joint movements and the way that your lower limbs work. Where appropriate this will also include static and walking pressure analyses. This is sometime referred to as gait analysis or a biomechanical assessment.

What should you bring with you to your MSK appointment?

During your appointment the podiatrist will likely examine your joints in your lower limb so please wear clothing that is comfortable and allows us to check how your feet, ankles, knees and hips move. Depending on your issue they may also watch you walking. You can bring shorts or leggings to change into for this if you wish.

Please bring some of your normal shoes with you too. Ones that you wear for work, sporting activities and in your social time will all help with your assessment.

Any insoles or orthotics you are currently using will also be of help.
